The main areas that I cover:

My day to day is very much overseeing all our press office activity – be that promoting a deal, launching new research or providing reactive commentary to the media.

This year I’ve also developed a corporate PR strategy, so getting our corporate messaging out there alongside the usual consumer bits is all part of my remit.

What was your reaction to making the shortlist?

I was in the Caribbean at the time, enjoying the first day of my honeymoon! My colleague messaged me, and I was beyond excited.

I shared the news with my family and broke my out of office to post on LinkedIn. A lot of colleagues – old and new – as well as clients reached out, so that was lovely.

It was also great to have an excuse to enjoy celebratory pina coladas for the rest of the day!

From your work so far, if you had to pick the campaign you are most proud of, what would it be, and why?

It’s hard to pick, but I would say any of the campaigns where the entire comms department comes together are always a huge success.

Take our Easter campaign for example. Our research showed that sadly many families across the UK couldn’t afford to buy Easter eggs. In response we launched our Snap and Save initiative, offering people the opportunity to get an Easter egg of their choice for free. The results were great. One influencer went viral talking about the initiative and ended up on ITV’s This Morning Show!

On a more personal level, I’m proud of the corporate work I’ve done so far. From communicating our green initiatives to profiling our co-founders, I love getting the other side of TopCashback out there.

What made you become a financial PR?

Being completely honest, I fell into it. I’d done a couple of years at an agency working across a portfolio of well-known consumer brands. I fancied a new challenge, which is how I landed at TopCashback.

So far, I’ve loved doing PR for a brand that’s driven by a mission to help consumers save money. Particularly in the current finical climate where everyone is looking for ways to save money.

As a relatively new ‘rising star’ financial PR?, what were the challenges you faced in 2022?:

Last year was quite a transformative one for me. Adapting to in-house life whilst also immersing myself in the world of personal finance and cashback was a challenge of its own.

More broadly, I think the aftermath of covid coupled with the cost-of-living crisis haven’t made life very easy for financial PRs!

Finally, if you were up for an award for any hobbies/activities outside of work, what would you be likely to win, and why?

I think it would be a foodie related award. I love eating out and trying new cuisines!
