Tell us about Compliance Corylated, and the areas you cover?
Compliance Corylated showcases the best in compliance journalism and is the trusted source of financial and ESG compliance intelligence. Expect industry-defining insight, analysis, investigations, and, of course, news.
Describe your target audience. How does your content benefit them?
Businesses need to understand regulatory change, when it’s happening, the wider impacts and the actions they need to take to embed compliance.
Delivering on this need brings its own challenges. Businesses don’t need ‘opinions’ or ‘thought leadership’: businesses do need a trusted source of news, analysis and insight.

What have the biggest stories/scoops been for Compliance Corylated?
We’ve been online since 10 December 2024 and we’re proud to say we’ve already had some big stories and scoops.
For me, Rachel, there are two stories so far of which I’m particularly proud. One is about Money Laundering Reporting Officers feeling undermined and exposed in their roles. It’s one of the most important compliance roles, but sadly financial crime folks say they aren’t supported by boards or the regulator.
Another one is based on a Freedom of Information Request I submitted to the Financial Conduct Authority which showed it found 139 firms failing to report securities transactions. Transaction reporting is costly for firms, and the FCA says it’s critical for addressing market abuse and insider dealing. But the data shows many firms — the FCA doesn’t know how many — are not reporting at all.
For me (Lindsey) it has been tracking what rules firms have asked regulators to review (there have only been three requests according to Freedom of Information Requests I’ve submitted) which has surprised a lot of experts. I’m also tracking/reporting on the motor finance debacle and the Government’s growth versus regulation agenda.
What is the best way to get in touch with your journalists?
Email first, but then phone or teams. And if people are in London, we’re always happy to grab a coffee.
Press day/busiest times:
We’re a small team so we’re always busy, but 1:1 interviews are key to writing good copy.
Are there any topics you would like to hear more from PRs about?
We are always looking for new experts to interview. Right now we are focused on payments, financial crime, operational risk/resilience, MiFID reporting, EMIR reporting, ESG and sustainability, the advice guidance review and the Consumer Duty.
What can PRs do to help your team?
Let us know when clients have colour comment for breaking news. The more thoughtful the comment, the better. Take a beat and then get in touch!
Any particular campaigns/features your team has worked on that you would like to highlight:
We’ve been experimenting with videos and animations:
- Bitcoin's Rise lifts ESG, sanctions risk - Compliance Corylated
- News in Brief - Compliance Corylated
What’s next for Compliance Corylated?
We’ve launched our podcast: Corylated – A Compliance Podcast. The first episode aired 20th February and is available on Spotify and Apple.
Tell us about the ongoing stories you expect to cover in 2025:
There is a redrawing of regulation going on globally right now and how that lands in the UK will be something we will track. I’d also include in the ongoing discussions around cash savings and shifting that money into investment.
Do you have any favourites venue for a team lunch/pint/activity?
Until two weeks ago it was just Lindsey and Rachel. We usually have a cup of tea in the shared office space while someone is bashing at table tennis behind us. We’ll keep you posted as the team grows!
In a pub quiz, which round would your team win?
FCA enforcement actions.
