The trophy for Campaign of the Year will be awarded to the best campaign of 2023 run by a media outlet, seeking to achieve change in the financial services industry..

Entering is a great way to celebrate the achievements of your team and demonstrate the importance of financial journalism!

Judges will be looking for evidence that your title (print/broadcast/digital) produced the most outstanding campaign during 2023. The campaign must have focused on highlighting an issue within finance, with implications for your readers. Your campaign might have been a one-off, or part of an ongoing initiative, but with tangible evidence of activity during the calendar year 2023.

Did your campaign expose/highlight a significant financial issue for your readers? Did your campaign include original research and reporting? Did your team's specialist knowledge enable you to provide fresh perspectives or offer valuable guidance and suggestions for progress? Did your campaign deliver positive change?

Entry deadline: 11pm Friday 16 February 2024

You'll need to submit:

  • A supporting statement (maximum 300 words) explaining why your submission should be considered for this award and why it deserves to win.
  • Three examples of work from your campaign, showcasing your aims, progress and outcomes.
    • The items you submit may, for example, be an exclusive news story, an in-depth piece of research, an advice-laden feature or an eye-catching interview.
    • Your pieces may have appeared in print, online, as a podcast, or as a piece of audio-visual reportage.
    • Your campaign might have been a one-off, or part of an ongoing initiative, but the items you submit must must have appeared in the calendar year 2023.
  • A headshot of the team responsible for the entry, for use in relevant Awards collateral and on the night at the Headlinemoney Awards ceremony.

Judges refer extensively to supporting statements during their deliberations, so be sure to include:

  • A clear explanation of where and why your campaign was published/broadcast and any useful background/context.
  • Evidence of journalistic achievement in terms of exclusivity, usefulness and influence
  • Evidence of how the campaign ultimately made an impact for readers/listeners/viewers and consumers.
  • Relevant links so judges can see the impact of your submission.

When looking at your submission, judges are likely to consider:

  • Have you explained the campaign's objectives?
  • Did you outline the campaign's target audience and why the topic a significant financial issue for your readers?
  • Have you described the implementation and activity of the campaign?
  • Have you included results/evidence of engagement with readers & policy makers?
  • Did you explain why your campaign should win?
  • Have you added details of supporting documents, URLs, etc, to back up your entry?

Shortlisting, judging & winners

Entries submitted by journalists across all categories will initially be shortlisted by a panel of judges and announced in April 2024. 

After shortlisting, the final and all-important judging phase to decide all the category winners will take place. Judging panels include over a hundred judges comprising senior financial journalists, editors and PRs drawn from around the UK’s financial media.

Widely acknowledged as the biggest night of the year for the UK’s money media, the industry will come together on Wednesday 17 July 2024, where the winners will be revealed at The Brewery in London, at the Headlinemoney Awards 2024.
