In his Headlinemoney Masterclass session on Thursday 20 April, Matt Bartle, Director of Mortgages and Savings, Leeds Building Society, alongside Martese Carton, Director of Mortgage Distribution, Leeds Building Society, will provide an overview of how mortgages are being used to solve some of the challenges faced by borrowers in the UK housing market, plus everything you need to know about cash savings.

Matt oversees all elements of mortgages and savings at Leeds Building Society, including design, pricing and governance. He is responsible for achieving the planned mortgage lending and attraction of savings deposits in a safe and sustainable way, as well as finding new ways to make it easier for borrowers to get on or move up the housing ladder.

Leeds Building Society is the UK’s fifth largest building society. Set up in 1875, we’re a mutual, which means we’re owned by our 815,000 members (our customers).

For more than 145 years we’ve been helping people to save money and buy their own home. This is still at the heart of our purpose – to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation.

With a network of more than 50 branches across the UK (only about a quarter of our customers live in Yorkshire) and a busy contact centre, we focus on providing members with helpful, friendly service.
