Robert Gardner, Chief Economist, Nationwide, alongside Rachael Sinclair, Director of Mortgages and Financial Wellbeing and Henry Jordan, Director of Home will speak at the Headlinemoney Masterclass on Thursday 18 April 2024.

Robert joined Nationwide in 2010 as Chief Economist. His team provide economic analysis and advice to key decision makers in Nationwide. His team is focused on developments in the UK economy, with a particular emphasis on the mortgage and savings markets.  Prior to joining Nationwide, Robert was the Head of Macroeconomics at RBS, where his team was responsible for providing economic analysis and forecasts for the UK, US and major Eurozone economies. During his career he also worked for Barclays, where he was responsible for analysis of emerging markets in Asia and Latin America. He has also worked as an economic adviser at HM Treasury.

Nationwide is the world's largest building society and is owned by its 16 million members. It is one of the UK’s largest providers for mortgages, savings and current accounts.

As a mutual organisation, Nationwide uses its unique position to help rebuild society by making a positive difference to the lives of its members and the communities in which they live. It is why Nationwide still values a branch network and places a premium on helping people thrive financially – whether helping them into a home of their own or giving them the financial support they need.

The Headlinemoney Masterclass will be held on Thursday 18 April 2024, where experts from three other financial services companies will give succinct overviews of their sectors for financial journalists. Find out more and book a place.
