What was your reaction to making the shortlist?
I was so excited – I went to call my colleague Olivia who was also shortlisted, but she beat me to it! We were so pleased for each other.
From your work so far, if you had to pick the campaign you are most proud of, what would it be, and why?
That would have to be the fraud campaign we did for Marcus by Goldman Sachs – ‘keeping calm under pressure’. It showcased how younger people were more susceptible to being a victim of fraud, and we used Jason Fox (the guy from SAS: Who Dares Wins!) who gave us some great tips on how to keep your wits about you if you think you’re potentially in a fraudulent situation. The whole campaign was so interesting to work on, from the research to dealing with talent, and it launched with so much incredible coverage!
What made you become a financial PR?
I actually used to work in financial services recruitment, and whilst the recruitment life wasn’t for me, I really enjoyed the sector! After spending a lot of time seeing where I could fit in the world of FS, I stumbled upon a job opening at CDR and absolutely loved everything they had to offer – I haven’t looked back since!
As a relatively new ‘rising star’ financial PR?, what were the challenges you faced in 2022?
Probably adjusting to life post-COVID. Getting in-person meetings and events organised was definitely difficult, but throughout the year it was great to see how in-person events became the norm once again.
Finally, if you were up for an award for any hobbies/activities outside of work, what would you be likely to win, and why?
I think my colleagues would call me the most patriotic Welsh person ever. Being the only Welsh person within my team is absolutely my main personality trait at this point… Cymru am byth!
