The main areas that I cover are:

Financial advice, platforms, pensions and investments.

What was your reaction to making the shortlist?

I’d guess it was similar to my esteemed peers. I waited impatiently for an appropriate amount of time to pass before posting the news to social media (don’t want to seem too chuffed with myself!)

From your work so far, if you had to pick the campaign you are most proud of, what would it be, and why?

Platform One joined as a client the same time I became a part of the team here at the lang cat, and we’ve gone on a great journey together. Without any real existing media presence, their profile has grown through thought leadership pieces, podcasts and getting stuck into debates. They’re now often asked to speak at a variety of financial events and have been profiled by a top trade publication. Plus planning and executing the PR comms for their first acquisition was particularly cool.

What made you become a financial PR?

I enjoy the relationship building, strategy and planning that comes with the job. It’s not dissimilar to being a journalist - it was the natural next step. There was only one place I wanted to go and learn the trade so when an opportunity came up at the lang cat I got stuck straight in.

As a relatively new ‘rising star’ financial PR what were the challenges you faced in 2023?

Trying to look older - my babyface betrays me! I’m not on my work experience week, honest.

Finally, if you were up for an award for any hobbies/activities outside of work, what would you be likely to win, and why?

The examples given as possible answers to this were: ‘world’s largest horror film collection, best/worst poker player, most likely to lose their keys, best beer pong teammate etc.’

In order: BIG NOPE, yes, definitely, almost certainly.
