About Peter Ranscombe
I spent nine years as a journalist at The Scotsman newspaper, before going freelance in 2014. I write for titles ranging from The Lancet and The Journal of The Law Society of Scotland through to Scottish Field and Whisky Magazine. As a copywriter, I pen content directly for banks and investment managers, and as a subcontractor through public relations firms. My copywriting has led into providing media training for businesses, charities, and public sector bodies, both directly and through David Lee Media & Events. I won a 2022 Wincott Award - hailed as the UK's equivalent of the Pulitzers - for my business writing in The Press & Journal. My debut novel, an historical thriller called Hare, was published in 2014.
